On this week's straight-talking smart tech podcast, The Hack hosts Leon and Jo are joined by Antonio Tombanane.

Digital Revo-Hull-tion with Antonio Tombanane

The straight-talking smart tech podcast is back, and in this episode, your hosts are joined by Antonio Tombanane. Who has recently been welcomed onto the Forbes Business Council, a growing networking organisation based around some of the most successful business leaders. He has been named one of the 50 most prominent black voices in the UK tech space, and we were honoured to have him in the studio to share some of his wisdom.

What’s discussed?

The gang started with our typical question surrounding the books that have shaped and guided the life of our guests. One of Antonio's answers, Compound Effect by Darren Hardy, offered an exciting insight into the mind and behaviour of an entrepreneur, discussing the management of wealth and how to look after what you've made for yourself. His other responses make for fascinating listening before he and the guys delve into the very nature of influence and ask, "What does it mean to be influenced?".

We also discuss with Antoni the impact social media is having on our daily lives. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram all have such outstanding impacts on our lives. Our discussion with Antonio about how it helps and hinders our ability to see and understand mental health issues offers a lot to think about. Compassion and understanding since the start of the pandemic are crucial to getting through difficult days. So being able to understand better the way that technology is impacting our ability to emphasise can help us relate to others better.

Finally, our hosts discuss self-care and physical health with Antonio. By focusing on dance and being himself, Antonio has lived a healthy and happy lifestyle without needing to drink or rely on things like alcohol for instant gratification. By focusing on eating well and going to the gym, Antonio has developed a lifestyle that he enjoys without putting undue stress on himself.
