Hull Sets a World Record: Think Cloud Helps Make Mental Health History
Over 1,400 people join global video lesson to raise awareness for World Mental Health Day
We’re thrilled to announce that a new Guinness World Record has been set, and Think Cloud is proud to have played a key part in making it happen.
On World Mental Health Day (10 October 2025), Hull took centre stage as more than 1,400 people came together online for a global video lesson designed to tackle stigma around talking about mental health. The event has officially been confirmed by Guinness World Records (TM) as the largest mental health awareness video lesson ever held, with 916 verified participants, surpassing the previous record of 770.
A Shared Moment of Connection and Courage
Hosted by Hull College, and Think Mental Health, and proudly supported by Smith+Nephew and Think Cloud, the event united staff, students, and professionals across the world in a shared moment of reflection, learning, and conversation.
From Hull to Hong Kong, employees and learners joined the call from countries including the UK, US, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, India, Italy, Germany, and China. It was a powerful demonstration of what’s possible when technology connects people for a purpose, not just productivity.
A Proud Moment for Hull and for Mental Health
Paul Longley, founder of Think Mental Health, described breaking the record as a milestone moment for the region and the wider movement to normalise mental health conversations.
“What a team we built to achieve the world record.
But most importantly we got 1400 people listening and going away with the tools to start those crucial conversations surrounding Mental Health.
With it also being World Mental Day why not do something different and we certainly did that.
Delivering into 18 countries now that’s creating awareness”
Powered by Partnership and Technology
As the Official Technology Partner, Think Cloud ensured the event platform could securely and reliably support over a thousand live participants connecting people from different countries, time zones, and networks into one seamless experience.
From live streaming and data verification to safeguarding participant privacy, our team worked behind the scenes to make sure technology served the human story at the heart of the day.
For us, this wasn’t just about setting a record. It was about using digital tools to empower connection, compassion, and change the essence of what we believe IT should stand for.
Hull College: “An Incredible Moment of Unity”
Hull College shared their gratitude on LinkedIn for everyone who took part:
“A huge thank you to everyone who joined our online mental health video session 💚
It’s been incredible to see so many people come together to raise awareness, start conversations, and show support for such an important cause – especially with it being World Mental Health Day.
We’re so proud of everyone who joined in to make a difference – and to make history along the way!”
A Record That’s Just the Beginning
While breaking a world record is an incredible achievement, the real success lies in what happens next to the ripple effect. Thousands of people who took part are now continuing the conversation, raising awareness, and helping others understand that mental health matters every day, not just once a year.
At Think Cloud, we’re honoured to have been part of this moment in history combining technology and teamwork to inspire change on a global scale.
Leon McQuade, Think Cloud’s Chief-AI-Officer says;
“Anything you put your mind to, you can achieve. Last Friday wasn’t just about breaking a world record - it was about making a difference. If just one person who took part feels encouraged to open up or check in on someone who’s struggling, then we’ve achieved something truly meaningful.
Starting that one conversation could save a life, and that’s far more important than any record.”
Together, we’ve shown that connection really can change the world one conversation at a time.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this achievement possible.
At Think Cloud, we’re proud to have powered the technology that helped make this moment of connection and awareness possible.
We powered a Guinness World Record - imagine what we could do for your business.
