On this week's podcast we have: > Leading Jordan’s Legacy -Steve Phillip Founder of The Jordan Legacy CIC
The Hack is back to business with people, process and technology at the forefront of yet another fascinating episode. Your hosts Leon, Paul and Jo, are joined by Steve Phillip, founder of The Jordan Legacy CIC. Prior to founding the charity, Steve was a successful business owner providing social media training and consultancy. However, Steve's life tragically changed when his son Jordan decided to take his own life at the age of 34.
Following Jordan's death, Steve decided he must focus all his energy on preventing suicide. As a result, he founded The Jordan Legacy CIC and now works with Champion Health as Head Of Mission - helping to deliver personal health assessments, bespoke action plans, company reports and mental health training programmes with the goal of saving lives.
What does The Jordan Legacy CIC do?
Steve and his amazing team provide support to people who are struggling with their mental health or considering suicide. They raise awareness through the ‘Zero Suicide Community Strategy’ to empower businesses, individuals and families to help prevent suicide.
What can businesses do?
Introducing workplace wellbeing initiatives is vital for any business. The environment and culture you create for your staff can have a significant impact on their mental wellbeing, recovery or willingness to be vulnerable and share when they’re struggling.
As you know, The Hack is all about promoting positive mental health and breaking down the barriers of everyday life. Steve's appearance on the show is particularly poignant, with his professional and personal experience providing a wide range of subjects for the group to discuss.
As always, the hosts are on hand with inquisitive discussion and thought-provoking questions; what are the three books that changed your life? What small purchase under £50 has improved your life the most? Interestingly with technology always at the forefront of the show, it's the first time an App has answered that question—another example of the ever-changing and developing role of technology in our lives.
This and more make this another episode of the street talking smart tech podcast that you won't want to miss.
The Hack works to promote the work of Andy's Men's Club, a non-profit organisation in the North of England seeking to create friendships and a healthy discussion about mental health. We would also ask our listeners to please look into The Jordan Legacy and the #Hope4Life events to support Steve's fantastic work in raising awareness.
